Practice the Art of Visual Contemplation

the art of visual contemplation

Also known as Visio Divina, or “divine vision,” sacred seeing is a contemplative practice that has been used for centuries in Catholic and Eastern Orthodox communities.

Based on the same process of intuitive insight that we use in our Insight Card practices, the process of sacred seeing allows you to “see with your heart,” as the Universe guides you and speaks to you through images, instead of words.

HOW TO SPEAK THE VISUAL LANGUAGE

To begin, set your intention on any area of life where you would like to receive wisdom, clarity, or guidance from the Universe.

STEP 1:
Quiet your mind and gaze at the images above.
Relax into a moment of reflection and peace of mind

STEP 2:
Follow your attention to the first image that you notice.
How does it speak to you?
Symbolically or metaphorically.

STEP 3:
Go deeper into the image, letting it speak to your heart and guide you.
You may also move around to multiple images as a story unfolds, along with a message for you in this moment.

STEP 4:
Journal your impressions to go deeper and pull down more context/meaning to apply in your life, so that it may inform you and give you a higher perspective on your life situation.

After your sacred seeing session, remain attentive for signs and validations of your inner discoveries.

You may repeat this practice as often as you are called.
